As I sort through my thousands of photographs on my computer (about 10,000), I remember the thousands that exist outside of my computer.  This is one of them.  This is a photograph of Jeff, in 2003, minutes after finishing a hike along Brice Creek near Cottage Grove, Oregon.  Though Jeff and I have lost touch, this photograph has resonated with me over the years.  On the way home, I rode in the back of their pickup with their dripping wet black lab Emma, as his parter Kasey, in the drivers seat, perhaps hummed In Spite of Ourselves.

Kasey and Jeff now run and operate Lonesome Whistle Farm in Junction City, Oregon.

This post was inspired by old friends and a call for entries by the Early Works Project.
